Ideologies are critical in the real world, because the differences among them are pivotal in the real world.

For instance, the U.S. has beefed up its military presence and power in the Asia Pacific. For example, it has opened six more military ports in Japan lately. What is the drift of that move? In order to contain the possible threats from North Korea, as well as China, and protect the interests of itself and its allies. Why that then? Because of the vast differences of ideologies between the West and the two countries, still.
