This blog is partly devoted to the sharing of my learning of the English language (my well mastered mother tongue is Chinese and I am not an English teacher) and its *cultures*, partly to the current significant trends in Canada and in the world, and partly to my own random thoughts and little life. I am not religious, but I am somewhat interested in Christianity and Buddhism, among other personal interests. Welcome. And, have a good day.

Lately Mr. Pierre-Luc Dusseault, a Quebecois student at Université de Sherbrooke and a politics junkie, was elected to become the youngest ever MP in Canada's history.
Does he nearly fully understand the challenges that the position carries with it to him?
It seems that the business world has continuously, never failing, invented euphemisms and introduced them into the general-usage English language.
Two exemplary words are 'lay-off' and 'downsize', both of which simply mean 'get rid of employees'.
