McMansion

I almost always view California with rapture. It's in the vanguard of almost everything. Silicon Valley, alternative energy, the mammoth movie-making industry, Stanford U., UC Berkeley, Caltech, the sophisticated San Francisco,
 the elegant Orange County, ... You name it. They have it all.

But McMansion, of shoddy repute, also originated from California. McMansions are walkways to distasteful pomp. Now people began to make the whole notion butt out, with snickers, since they realized that modest lairs are what people truly need.
