This blog is partly devoted to the sharing of my learning of the English language (my well mastered mother tongue is Chinese and I am not an English teacher) and its *cultures*, partly to the current significant trends in Canada and in the world, and partly to my own random thoughts and little life. I am not religious, but I am somewhat interested in Christianity and Buddhism, among other personal interests. Welcome. And, have a good day.

Personally I don't like songs with long-winded lyrics very much.
Singers with mortormouths typically lose me.
One dilemma in life is that some people are thought by many others as downtrodden but they are protected all in all.
If they are "liberated", lo and behold, a Pandora's box gets opened, from the circumstances.

Who doesn't want to be chipper?
But oftentimes individuals are too unapologetically caught up in the rat race for that.
To cull one's workload in life must be one key of time management.
Strapped for time? Then save more.

An Ubuntu PPA is a repository of software programs, usually maintained by third parties.
Why use the word "repository", not "depository" or "depot"?

Interestingly for me, senators, the members of the so-called Upper House of the Parliament, are in fact unelected in Canada.
Instead, they are "appointed by the governor general on the advice of the prime minister." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senate_of_Canada ).
By contrast, MPs (i.e. Members of Parliament), the members of the so-called Lower House (a.k.a. the House of Commons) of the Parliament, are elected. And, indeed, "the House of Commons in practice holds far more power than the upper house, the Senate. Although the approval of both Houses is necessary for legislation, the Senate very rarely rejects bills passed by the Commons (though the Senate does occasionally amend bills). Moreover, the Government of Canada is responsible solely to the House of Commons. The Prime Minister stays in office only as long as he or she retains the support, or "confidence", of the lower house." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Commons_of_Canada )

Well, "Baccalaureate" means B.A., while the famous institution "International Baccalaureate" (a.k.a. "IB") offers formal educational programs for children aged 3-19.
It's one of the few instances in which the adjective "international" degrades something instead of enhancing it.

Well, the American government and military had removed Saddam Hussein and his government in Iraq, then they stayed a while, then they left.
Now the sorry country is in a horrible civil war. What a mess.
Can't people all over the world see an apparent pattern? And, does an American touch upon an area make the inhabitants stressed out?

The rooms in which men take their whizzes must be kept clean.
Chinese restaurants in Montreal often fall short of that.

The American way of life seems to have become more and more like: sit long, act pretty, live pretty.
Where's the substance?
And where's the time to get physical, just with only your own body?
And where's the time to get physical, just with only your own body?
Crap. It appears that too many young boys get attracted to it even before they will reach the age of the bull of the woods.
The cowboys who control the mass media definitely have done their job very very well.

How many very valuable, or even priceless, heritages of all the human kind's traditions have been discredited by the modern civilization of the West?
The West's own priceless heritages are among the discredited, too.
The culprits may include the Protestant Reformation, as well as the Enlightenment.

Brad in the movie "American Beauty": "I'm one of the good guys, Les. I'm trying to level with you. This is your one chance to save your job."
Huh, human resource management, the American way.

Young girls who don't know wear come-on clothes...
And those young men and girls who somewhat act out with their voices and deeds...
Well, Fossil is a very interesting company.
Take the instance of a paper card that comes with its new wallets. On it is printed:
[
Authentic
FOSSIL
Genuine
Long Live Vintage
]
And, well, the company itself was founded in 1984, in the U.S.

It's sad to get to know that for many Chinese American engineers who had immigrated from Asia, getting their first professional job after the earning of their PhD degrees is almost the high point of their lives, then it's almost all downhill from there.
And then they got laid off in their forties or fifties, and then it's hard to land another similar job, and then...
Look closer at the devouring American capitalist machine, my son.
