This blog is partly devoted to the sharing of my learning of the English language (my well mastered mother tongue is Chinese and I am not an English teacher) and its *cultures*, partly to the current significant trends in Canada and in the world, and partly to my own random thoughts and little life. I am not religious, but I am somewhat interested in Christianity and Buddhism, among other personal interests. Welcome. And, have a good day.

It appears that Mr. Rob Ford has a loose mouth sometimes. Now he's gotten served with a libel notice.
What a drama in Toronto's public life.

It seems that many Chinese intellectuals align themselves with Westerners, especially Americans.
But I'm afraid that some of them are just opportunists in essence, and those people cannot devote themselves to the Western ideals and values.

Vigils for Nelson Mandela have been held around the world.
I've got only a vague idea about what he'd done in his life. Maybe I'll read more about his life.

I am confused over the differences between carpets and rugs no more.

The dignitary Mr. Justin Trudeau appears to be still a little too green to understand the principles undergirding Canadian politics.
See http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/11/08/justin-trudeau-seemingly-admires-chinas-basic-dictatorship-at-toronto-fundraiser/ .
Now nearly every Canadian knows Mr. Trudeau is probably a political lightweight. Well, Rex Murphy got it right. He worded 'The "Unbearable" Lightness of Justin Trudeau'. See http://www.cbc.ca/thenational/content/analysis/rexmurphy/justin_trudeau_the_johnny_depp_of_canadian_politics.html .

Working in a hospice would provide a very thought-provoking experience, wouldn't it?
There's no issue bigger than life and death on the Earth.

One man's meat is another man's poison.
At the same time, one woman's meat is another woman's poison, certainly.
Maybe some interest groups with humongous sums of money act like demogorgons in this world.
Can the democratic institutions check them?

While you have a toddler child, your time is still dispersed during every single day.
For that matter, cooking healthy meals occupies a large chunk of time.

How come I see more and more grief in the societies of both U.S.A. and China?
And, how come I see more and more discussions about the dissipation of ancient empires?

Some lousy wives give their men lip.
Some unwise wives want their men to be wusses who are bossed around by them.

Among the Chinese languages movies, some Hong Kong movies are doozies really. Fashion, visual style, music, entertainment, depth, morality, they have them all.
Of course you shouldn't watch a Hong Kong movie with its dialogues interpreted into Mandarin. That would reduce it to a lackluster.

The market, i.e. the customers, adjudicate every single round of business competition.
But the market is fickle, and the competition perpetual.
Are pristine women increasingly rare?
Of course, on the other hand, women are saying, "are good men increasingly rare?"

The enskied Google Inc. has slowed down their innovation pace.
Personally I think the reputed enormous resources put in the "Google+" thing is their relatively dumbest strategic bet.
