It shouldn't take long for a smart phone app to complete its sign-in authentication process.

Otherwise it would give its users slight nerves. People use it on the go and hence cannot wait long at all.

Only after having lived in a relatively advanced country, Canada in my case, for some years, I have really realized how crucial the independent thinking is for an individual.

The feeds pushing of the Wordpress platform appears to be a little problematic from time to time.

Standard interlocked mats add one more functional layer to a room.

The Motorola Xoom tablet calls for attention.

It was launched into the market in February, the previous month.

It seems that the prophetic Warren Buffet has been acquiring insurance companies over the years.

General Motors EN-V - Wikipedia

Gee. This GM EN-V concept car blows me away: General Motors EN-V - Wikipedia.

On a related note, I suspect that the consumers in China will possibly get their hands on the EN-V thing earlier than their counterparts in the U.S. and Canada.

In the past, thews on a man were for fighting. In this era, they are largely for displaying.

Sweet spots in the web development industry are moving targets.

My hometown in China still looked to be stuck in a state of torpor, when I visited it last year.

It seemed not to be in a position to "win some or learn some". Sigh.

Hilary Clinton looks like top political timber.

Oftentimes, in front of truth, we must make earnest and unbiased suppliances in order to get it.

Comparing with cinemas, a lot of TV channels are sort of like content farms.

You have to pay up front in order to watch a flick in a cinema. But you pay zero cent to watch programs on many TV channels.

Due to an ever escalating hectic construction boom since around a decade ago, the old Beijing has largely been disappearing. Beijing, one of the mega cities of China, is not Beijing any more.

Now I know that a city is NOT a geographic term. Instead, it is a cultural term and a term of LIFESTYLE.

Sweet deep slumbers can only be led to by a certain threshold of the degree of the state of prior relaxation.

Sometimes details are trifling. Other times the devil is in the details. It is pivotal to differentiate between the two sorts of details.

A cop wears a gun. A woman wears her make-up. A man wears a key of his premium car.

It tends to be a little subtle for a native speaker of Chinese to discern the nerves in the tones of the native speakers of English.

Every professional fortuneteller must have a sibylline book which offers infallible explanations for people's coming fates.

Should the companies which make internet games cooperate with the government more, in order to rein in the relentlessly long gaming sessions of some gamers, hence avoid the society to view the game makers as sorcerers?

Universally, Western leaders profess their belief in freedom and democracy. As a person who grew up in a closed China, I still am not capable of fully comprehending and appreciating that particular belief.

In addition, what are the differences between freedom and liberty?

The other day, the Canadian Air Force deployed 6 McDonnell Douglas CF-18 fighter jets overseas for the Libya issue. More than 120 Air Force personnels were embarked for the mission.

I had never thought before that a fighter jet, whose crew is only 1 or 2 persons, needs to be equipped with more than 20 soldiers for its mission.

Briefly after the name "Steve Jobs" had invoked my attention, he, apparently received as a wizard then, began to be on and off with medical leaves. Sigh. Good luck.

In my ignorant years, I didn't requite many kindnesses.

I personally doubt that China's economy is in a tenable position in the long term.

Quiet environments are good friends of my mind.

It seems that the temperature of regular coffee drink is crucial for it to taste the best.

By the way, the "Nabob" Gourmet Blend coffee is not bad.

If you think the fact that Bill Gates' father being a prominent attorney and his mother being an influential businesswoman had facilitated the ascent of Bill Gates as a legendary biz icon, then what do you think about the fact that Bill's two sibs, Kristianne Gates and Libby Gates, are obscure?

In the ever expanding vast sea of SNS and UGC, it's consequential for every participant to ask this question: What are the information needs of my followers?

In the perception of many, high finance resembles sorcery and is just paper pushing and doesn't create real value for the economy whatsoever.

Sometimes I tend to gape at the phenomenon that some people aren't aware that their actual disrespect for others is apparent and writ large on their behaviors. Well, of course, not all of them care about that.

I guess Flickr's API open to the public isn't very comprehensive.

I like the sable color.

The Windows Shell Common Dll is still dumb in Windows 7.

Two tidbits about garbage

  • The prevalent automatic garbage collection was invented as a solution in Lisp.
  • (Data) Garbage in, garbage out.

TIER (try, import, except, raise)

A lovely snippet of code pattern:

try:
    import service
    except Error:
        raise

In web apps, every step or user choice is a solution.

In excellent articles or texts, every sentence is an instance of mind stretching, informing, questioning, or problem solving.

針對新的需求特徵來進行公司內部的流程改造。

On the top of the heads of some well groomed men, grizzled hair shines elegance.

Maybe only the rich countries can breed excellent user experience designs, which can accommodate the changing usage needs of individual consumers, on a wide scale.

There are a lot of bimbos in this world. But the world needs them, definitely.

English proficiency is a definite competitive edge for people in the software and web development industry.

I tend to put a premium on accuracy.

A sib is not necessarily a very good friend. But a sib is a sib.

In reality, now who places much care on the hallowed grounds and spots of the indigenous peoples in Canada?

On the other hand, Jerusalem, the holy city of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, has always been in the spotlight on the world stage.

Think about that.

It seems that the Kobo ebook reader, made by a Canadian biz which is a local giant, is not up to par yet, in terms of sophistication.

How far will it be able to go, in the presence of the Amazon Kindle ebook reader, which is made by the, well, almighty Amazon.com ?

See the customer reviews of Kobo at http://goo.gl/6EbVM .

Now there's a term "APU", which means "Accelerated Processing Unit". An APU integrates a CPU and a GPU.

When one hallows money, he becomes a blind man.

When one hallows truth, he becomes a free man.

It is received that after having lived together for some years, some similarity grows between the countenances of a couple.

Even if the Blogger platform doesn't offer ritzy user experience, Google is still eating its own dog food and using it for its official company blog at

Building seamless information channels is very vital.

Music video - Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (Live)

Lyrics:
I'm Yours
Well you done done me
and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill
but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
Now I'm trying to get back

Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
And nothing's gonna to stop me
but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn
to win some or learn some

But I won't hesitate
no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Well open up your mind
and see like me
Open up your plans
and damn, you're free
Look into your heart
and you'll find love love love love

Listen to the music of the moment
people dance and sing
We're just one big family
And it's our God-forsaken right
to be loved love loved love loved

So I won't hesitate
no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure

There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

Scooch on closer dear
And I will nibble your ear

I've been spending way too long
checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards
just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed

I guess what I'll be saying is
there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanities and
just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

But I won't hesitate
no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure

Well open up your mind
and see like me
Open up your plans
and damn, you're free
Look into your heart
and you'll find the sky is yours

Please don't, please don't,
please don't
There's no need to complicate
Cause our time is short
This, oh this, oh this is our fate, I'm yours

Sometimes, to a certain extent, women are like sibyls for their children.

Some men tend to look kind frowningly. That sort of appearance signals maturity.

User-generated content (a.k.a. UGC) seems to have become a precious commodity that businesses compete for.

I am intrigued by the existence of content farms and the valuation of the contents they present for whatever reasons.

On a related note, obviously those content farms add a lot to the brunt of our information overload.

YouTube adopts the iFrame video format, which was developed and unveiled by Apple in around October 2009.

In China, people tend to hallow individuals with power or money. But power can be abused.

In the West, people tend to hallow law. And no one is above the law.

A sense of duty is actually pivotal for an individual or organization. That covers and speaks a lot which is not writ down in explicit contracts.

Screen space for some free information units on commercial websites is at a premium.

Sigh. For free stuff, sometimes we get what we pay for.

Yahoo! has been vanishing from our sight.

Sigh. What a legend it once was.

When my infant daughter sees my wife, she finds herself complete again.

Space is at such a premium in Hong Kong. I don't understand why some Chinese still want to go there.

In addition, will the future of HK be a bright one? I doubt it.

People's confidence in an institution is proportional to the accountability of that institution.

These years, I've been harrowed by the almost disastrous complexity of information acquiring and filtering.

There was a two-year long Klondike Gold Rush in Yukon, Canada roughly a hundred years ago. Given the proximity of Yukon to Alaska, did one or more similar gold rushes happen in Alaska?

Elegance is the moniker of France.

Acquiring proficient oral English seems to be a hallowed pursuit among the ESL learners in China.

However, I personally consider what really matters is not what the tongue can voice, instead, it is what the mind can deliver.

It intrigues me why the national policy makers across the world all make parents pay for their children's daycare, while they make the society, a.k.a. taxpayers, pay for the children's elementary and secondary school education.
