This blog is partly devoted to the sharing of my learning of the English language (my well mastered mother tongue is Chinese and I am not an English teacher) and its *cultures*, partly to the current significant trends in Canada and in the world, and partly to my own random thoughts and little life. I am not religious, but I am somewhat interested in Christianity and Buddhism, among other personal interests. Welcome. And, have a good day.

Excerpt from web -
而在正式写作中,尤其是在学术写作中我们一要避免使用Baby English,例如;take off最好改用remove,throw away最好改用discard,get used to最好改用adjust to或adapt to.

People must be scurrying on Douban.com.
Effectively filtering information has been becoming increasingly time-consuming.

Good authentic Chinese dishes make my stomach merry. However, they're hard to come by in Montreal.
Well, that's one of the compromises that I have to take for living in a relatively fair, rich, and democratic country.
Many entrepreneurs mistake "possible" for "probable".
(Pic from http://goo.gl/qayWr)
That's right, what measures do you take in order to make it from "possible" into the realm of "probable"?

Now I know, youthful pop singers tend to be more or less blithe.
And that's one of the reasons why they fail to attract adult fans.
"Sir, how many degrees will be enough for me to have?" "The more the merrier."
P.S. I feel glad that universities haven't made postdoc an academic degree yet(?). If one day that happens, what degree should a professor or academic researcher with, say, twenty years of research work under his belt, be entitled to? Assume that he wants to leave the ivory tower for the real world and work in it, can he claim that he has a post-post-postdoc degree? :-)
Every person comes away from his alma mater intellectually, in a matter of years.
So, especially in this era of lifelong learning, which university or institution a person graduates from shouldn't be overly fussed about.

By its nature, the field of investment is risky business.
So the volatility of the fortunes of individual financial firms should reflect the natural and unavoidable failures of risky undertakings, which after all is what their businesses are all about.

Many elders are so out of it.
They should streamline their own individual processes of information intake by embracing the channels of the web and the 3G / 4G network.

Wow. Canada's population is around 5 times of that of Libya. That makes me proud. :-)
Man, Canada even is the 36th most populous country in the world! Well, I guess that the gigantic number of the population of China, which was my home country, has blindfolded me so that I haven't been able to appreciate the fact that Canada is actually a relatively populous nation on the Earth. Well.

Well, it's said that New Zealand is very prone to earthquakes. Is the long term situation over there worse than in Japan?
People should consider to gradually move out of there.
Human beings really are prone to indiscretions.
A man must ask himself, "what sort of man do you want to be?"
Trade and diplomatic accords among countries are typically the tips of the iceberg.
What are the real underneath forces of them?

It's up to every individual to use his discretion in deciding how to expend his time.
Man, that's actually an enormous responsibility, in certain senses.

Many negotiations and organizing take place discreetly, in every single significant country's political landscape.
For instance, Canada seems to have been working hard to have give and take with the Organization of American States.
